FemtoLASIK Procedure
In femtoLASIK, unlike PRK, a thicker layer including the epithelium and stroma of the cornea is prepared by a femtosecond laser, and the excimer laser is irradiated to the underlying layer (flap) to correct the eye score, and then the same layer is returned to its place. In this method, due to the correction of the eye score in the posterior stroma, rapid vision improvement occurs, but there is a possibility of flap displacement.
Advantages and Complications of FemtoLASIK Surgery
Approximately 40% of patients also use the femtoLASIK method, and it is an effective treatment for hyperopia, myopia (positive number), and astigmatism.
The vision of most patients has improved the day after surgery.
The possibility of infection after FemtoLASIK surgery is very low.
There is a possibility of displacement of the thin layer of the cornea (flap) after FemtoLASIK surgery, and the need for eye care in the first three days is important.
Typically, you can return to work and normal life the day after surgery.
